What is Botox?

Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It was discovered over 100 years ago and has now been refined to use in the medical industry. It has been used with in the medical industry for over 25 years to weaken the power of muscles. For over 10 years it has been licensed to be administered to the face for erasing wrinkles, Botox is one of the simplest and most effective ways to go about it.

Botox is a very popular cosmetic procedure, and this is mainly due to the fact that it is convenient, effective and fast acting. Botulinum toxin (Botox) – is used mainly on the upper part of the face to soften wrinkles and frown lines. Small amounts may be used on the lower part of the face.
